Flood Relief Group Supports 88 Pupils, Trains 41 Widows in Mokwa

Mokwa, The Mokwa Flood Relief Support Group has sponsored 88 pupils and trained 41 widows and children on skill acquisition in Mokwa Local Government Area of Niger State.
The group, comprising sons and daughters of Mokwa, handed out cheques to school proprietors and training institutes to support the flood victims.
The Chairman of the group, Ahmed Nasir, a retired Assistant Controller General of Customs, said the gesture aimed to alleviate the suffering of the survivors.
According to Nasir, the group sponsored 88 pupils from nursery to secondary school level and trained 41 widows and children on tailoring, catering, and soap making.
He appealed to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to redeem his pledge of N2 billion for the construction of resettlement and provision of a 15 MVA transformer.
The group lauded Governor Muhammad Umaru Bago for providing cash support to the flood victims and called on the federal government to fulfill its pledges.
The Ndalele of Mokwa, Alhaji Muhammadu Shaba Aliyu, and the Head of Hausa Community, Alhaji Bala Tanko, appreciated the group’s humanitarian gesture.
