Alleged corruption: Ganduje, family absent in court

Kano, National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, (APC) Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, and those to be arraigned with him were absent in Court on Wednesday for a formal arraignment in connection with alleged Multi billion naira corruption case.

Ganduje, former governor of Kano State absence in court triggered mixed reactions by audience that are present in court, trying to ask if his absence would not be termed to be a disobedience to constituted authority.

Also absent during the proceedings were his spouse, Prof. Hafsat Ganduje, son, Umar Ganduje, and 5 other suspects associated with the alleged corruption case.

However, it was not clear why the former governor, who is also also the National Chairman of the ruling party, (APC) failed to show up for arraignment.

A close source to the family, who do not was his name in the print revealed that he is not in the country.
“Dr. Ganduje is not in the country.”

The Kano state High court had on April 9, 2023 issued a summon to the APC National Chairman to appear for arraignment on April 17 over an alleged multi billion naira corruption perpetrated while on office.

It was also not clear as at the time of this report whether he sent a legal representation as the court is due to commence judicial process.

Barring any last minute change, the court is expected to make a sweeping response over the absence of the accused person.
