APC Endorses Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf as Sole Consensus Candidate for Kano Governorship Election

Thousands of party supporters and political stakeholders gathered at the Sani Abacha Stadium as the All Progressives Congress (APC) officially affirmed Abba Kabir Yusuf as the party’s sole consensus gubernatorial candidate for the next election in Kano State.
The endorsement, which took place during a major party congress, was witnessed by top APC leaders, elected officials, delegates and party loyalists from across the state, signaling what party leaders described as a united front ahead of the forthcoming governorship poll.
Moving the motion for Governor Yusuf’s endorsement, the Deputy President of the Senate, Barau Jibrin, said the governor had demonstrated leadership qualities and commitment to the development of Kano State, making him the preferred choice of the party for a second term in office.
The motion was subsequently seconded by Ssnator Representing Kano South Abdulrahman Kawu Sumaila, who declared that party members across the state were fully in support of the governor’s candidacy and confident of victory in the next election.
Following the endorsement, Governor Yusuf was officially affirmed as the only consensus gubernatorial candidate of the APC in Kano State, a development party leaders described as a strong indication of unity and confidence within the ruling party.
Speaking during the congress, the Chairman of the Congress ,Alhaji Mukhtar Shagari, who represented the national leadership of the APC, described the endorsement as a reflection of Governor Yusuf’s dedication to governance and public service.
According to him, the overwhelming support shown by party members and stakeholders demonstrated that the governor had earned the trust and confidence of the people through his administration’s policies and programmes.
Shagari further expressed optimism that the APC would emerge victorious in the next governorship election, noting that the party remained committed to consolidating on the achievements recorded under Governor Yusuf’s leadership.
Addressing the gathering, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf thanked party leaders, delegates and supporters for the confidence reposed in him, pledging to continue implementing people-oriented projects and developmental programmes across the state.
The governor assured residents that his administration would sustain ongoing infrastructural projects and initiatives aimed at improving education, healthcare, agriculture, youth empowerment and economic development in Kano State.
He also promised not to disappoint the people and the party, stressing that he would continue to justify the trust placed in him through transparent leadership and responsive governance.
