
AIG Visits Niger Command Emphasizes On Community Policing

Assistant Inspector General AIG Zone 7, Adebowale Williams has said that Nigerian police is repositioning its technical intelligence for proactive policing to curb kidnapping, insurgency and other crimes in the country.
He made the disclosure during his official visit to Niger State Command to ascertained first hand information and have interactive session with the officers and men of the command in Minna.
AIG Williams assured to improve in response time, intelligence and prompt visibility policing however warned the personnel to protect the citizens not abuse by extension as anyone found wanting will face the wrath of the law.
He commended the state police commissioner Ogundele Ayodeji’s leadership for the recent break through and governor Mohammed Umar Bago for the vehicles donated to the command which he said will go a long way to ease their transportation.
The Zone 7 AIG urged them to take advantage of the Renewed Hope Agenda of the president Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the officers welfare package will be giving the required priority so as to boost thei moral and confidence while carrying out their mandate.
He reiterated the commitment of the Nigerian police in getting rid of all forms of criminalities such as cyber times, adding that as the leading internal security of the country measures have been put in place to resist inter boarder crimes to gain the confidence of the masses.
The Niger State Commissioner of Police CP, Ogundele Ayodeji appreciated the AIG’s visit for his share of wisdom, knowledge and experience through his lecture.
He revealed some of the command challenges to include; insurgency and banditry, youth restiveness, inadequate logistics and manpower as well as dilapidated office structure and accommodation in sone divisional and local government offices in the state.
