Yusuf welcomes 29 Kano sponsored postgraduates from Indian varsity

Gov. Abba Yusuf of Kano State on Tuesday received 29 students who recently completed their master’s degrees at SR University,India. 

The students were sponsored for the post graduate programme by the Kano State Government under its foreign scholarship programme.

The graduates are part of a broader initiative by the Kano State Government to sponsor 1,001 students for advanced studies, aimed at empowering the youth with global knowledge and skills.

The reception,according to a statement by the spokesperson of the Governor,Sanusi Dawkin Tofa, is a significant milestone in the state’s ambitious foreign scholarship programme.

During the reception, the statement said, the Governor  announced a new round of foreign scholarship for postgraduates at both private and public universities within and outside the country.

At the reception held at the Malam Aminu Kano International Airport Governor was in company of Sen. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso,the National leader of the NNPP.

Yusuf personally received the students, underscoring the importance the administration places on education and human capital development.

He congratulated the returning scholars on their achievements, praising their determination and hard work.

He highlighted their critical role that the newly-acquired knowledge would play in contributing to Kano’s socio-economic growth.

 “Your success is a testament to the potential that exists within Kano’s youth, and it is our responsibility to ensure that more talented individuals are given the same opportunities,” the Governor said.

Earlier, the beneficiaries of the scheme arrived Kano from Uganda, while others are scheduled to arrive in November and December respectively.(
