The Kano State Government has launched a refresher training program for over 72 secondary school teachers on modern fish farming.

The training, organized by the Kano State Educational Resource Department (KERD), aims to equip teachers with the necessary skills to impart knowledge to students across the state.

The program is designed to make students self-reliant by providing them with entrepreneurship training in fish farming.

The “train the trainer” refresher course will enable participating teachers to conduct step-down training for students.

The Kano State Government is dedicated to providing vocational skills to secondary school students, enhancing their livelihoods and economic prospects.

Dr. Ali Haruna Makoda, State Commissioner of Education

– “Vocational skills are the most effective means of improving students’ livelihoods, especially at this time.

This government is initiating more ways to provide students with necessary skills to become self-reliant and sustain their families in the future.”

– “Kano State, like China, has been blessed with a population that, if fully utilized, would help boost the state’s economy sector.

This is what the present administration is doing to achieve economic stability through heavy educational investment.”

Significance of the Training

The training is part of the government’s efforts to enhance the quality of education in Kano State.

By focusing on practical skills like fish farming, the government aims to empower students to become self-reliant and contribute to the state’s economic growth.
