Kano, Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has approved the appointment of the Emir of Gaya, Alhaji Dr. Aliyu Ibrahim Abdulkadir, as the Amirul Hajj for the 2026 Hajj exercise.
This was disclosed in a statement issued on Tuesday by the governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa.
The statement also announced the appointment of the Emir of Karaye, Alhaji Muhammad Maharaz, as the Deputy Amirul Hajj.
It added that the Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board was expected to provide maximum support to the Amirul Hajj and his deputy to ensure smooth and successful operations.
The government wished the Amirul Hajj, his deputy, and the management and staff of the Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board a successful Hajj exercise, and prayed that all pilgrims would perform an accepted Hajj and return home safely.
