By Aminu Garko
Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko, the former Governor of Sokoto State, has challenged Permanent Secretaries in the state’s public service to be dedicated, diligent, and punctual in their duties.
He emphasized that their role is crucial in the Ministry, and they must justify the confidence placed in them.
While hosting the Permanent Secretaries to a breakfast dinner (Iftar) at his Gawon Nama residence in Sokoto,
Sen. Wamakko stressed that the state government has provided all necessary resources for them to function effectively. He encouraged them to work efficiently, stay in their offices, and follow guidelines governing their duties.
The Senator also noted that Permanent Secretaries set the tone for their junior colleagues, emphasizing the importance of punctuality.
He described them as the “engine rooms” of the public service, urging them to maintain high standards.
The visit was led by the State Head of Service, Sulaiman S. Fulani Ahmadu, and attended by notable figures such as Amb. Sahabi Isah Gada and Prof. Mustapha Namakka.
The event concluded with a special prayer by Sheikh Aminu Abdullahi Sufi, seeking Allah’s continued blessings and mercies.
