Kano, The Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II, has emphasized the need for zero tolerance to domestic violence, revealing that 45% of cases in Kano Shariah courts involved wife beating and domestic violence.
Speaking at a National Dialogue Conference on Gender-Based Violence prevention, Sanusi advised his daughters to retaliate if their husbands slapped them, emphasizing that beating a woman is prohibited and a crime.
