Yusuf celebrates Emir Sanusi at 65

Kano – July 31, 2026 – Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has congratulated the Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II, on the occasion of his 65th birthday.

This was contained in a statement issued on Friday by the governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa.

The governor described the emir as a visionary leader whose wisdom, courage and commitment to justice continue to inspire generations.

On behalf of the government and people of Kano State, Yusuf celebrated Sanusi’s contributions to nation-building, education, economic development and the preservation of Kano’s cultural and religious heritage.

He noted that the emir’s lifetime of service had earned him admiration both within Nigeria and internationally.

The governor praised the emir for his dedication to promoting peace, unity and good governance, as well as his advocacy for education, women and youth empowerment, sustainable development and economic reforms.

He said the monarch’s leadership had remained a beacon of hope and progress for the people of Kano and beyond.

Governor Yusuf prayed to Allah to bless Sanusi with good health, long life and continued wisdom as he leads the Kano Emirate and contributes to the development of the state and the nation.

He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to working with the traditional institution to advance policies and programmes that would improve the lives of the people and strengthen Kano’s position as a centre of excellence.
