Kano Capital School Investigation Committee Submits Final Report

The Kano Ministerial Committee, established to investigate alleged financial mismanagement at Kano Capital School, has submitted its final report to the Commissioner of Education, Alhaji Umar Haruna Doguwa.

The report contains recommendations aimed at addressing issues affecting the smooth operation of the school.

The 11-member committee, led by Permanent Secretary Hajiya Kubra Imam, was formed on March 21, 2024, to investigate long-standing problems related to financial mismanagement and staff claims.

Doguwa commended the committee for their work and assured that the government would implement the recommendations to bring positive change to the school. 

He emphasized the administration’s commitment to restoring the quality of the state education sector, highlighting initiatives such as a 14-point agenda, massive school enrollment programs, distribution of instructional materials, and reopening of boarding schools.

The committee’s report includes a thorough review of the school’s financial records, budgets, and expenditures over the past two years, along with recommendations for improvement. 

The committee’s mandates included analyzing teacher recruitment and salary payment procedures, conducting a thorough audit of the school’s financial records, and maintaining open communication with stakeholders.

The Commissioner called on the public to support the administration’s efforts to improve education in the state. 

The government has committed to implementing the committee’s recommendations and ensuring a conducive learning environment.
