Lokoja – August 2, 2026 – Dangote Cement Plc, Obajana Plant, has distributed educational materials to pupils in Lokoja, the Kogi State capital, as part of its corporate social responsibility, CSR, initiatives.
This was contained in a statement issued on Saturday by the company.
General Manager, Social Performance Department, Dangote Cement, Obajana Plant, Ademola Adeyemi, said the intervention was an extension of the company’s CSR schemes.
He said the distribution came days after similar materials were given to pupils in public schools in Oyo, Iwaa, Obajana and Apata communities, and after the commissioning of a multi-million naira hospital in Obajana.
Adeyemi noted that the company had over the years invested in social programmes for host communities, including empowerment schemes, road construction, potable water projects and hospital projects in Iwaa and Oyo.
He said the company’s CSR programmes were aligned with government development priorities and implemented through sustained partnerships.
According to the statement, materials distributed included school bags, exercise books, writing materials, water bottles and other learning aids aimed at enhancing pupils’ learning experience ahead of the next academic session.
It said a needs assessment conducted by the company showed that several pupils attended school without bags and lacked essential materials such as exercise books, pens and pencils.
Head Teacher of UBE LGEA School, St. Luke Model II, Adankolo, Lokoja Local Government Area, Abubakar Sanni, expressed appreciation to the management of Dangote Cement for the gesture.
He also thanked Group President of the conglomerate, Aliko Dangote, for extending the educational support programme beyond host communities to schools in the state capital.
Beneficiaries, school management, parents and community stakeholders also expressed gratitude to the company and prayed for its continued growth and success in supporting community development.
