The New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) has welcomed back 1,230 former supporters of Hon. Abdulrahman Kawu Sumaila, who previously aligned with the Waraka political group.

The returnees, from Albasu, Sumaila, Bunkure, and Tofa local government areas in Kano State, pledged their loyalty to the NNPP and its leader, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso.

Senator Kwankwaso welcomed the returnees, emphasizing the party’s commitment to issue-based politics and ideology-driven governance.

Jamilu Zamba and Maryam Romo, speaking on behalf of the returnees, praised Kwankwaso’s leadership style, integrity, and commitment to grassroots development.

The return of the Waraka group is seen as a major boost for the NNPP in Kano South, potentially strengthening the party’s grassroots structure and position ahead of the 2027 general elections.
