Kano Education Ministry Strengthens Ties with Media to Boost Education Sector”

The Kano State Ministry of Education has embarked on a media tour to foster collaborative relationships with media organizations across the state.
Led by Commissioner of Education, Alhaji Umar Haruna Doguwa, the ministry visited several media stations to discuss educational development and seek support in addressing education challenges.
Doguwa highlighted the need for collective effort to address the inherited educational challenges, emphasizing the government’s commitment to revitalizing the sector through declaring a state of emergency on education.
He mentioned various initiatives, including the Kano International Conference on Education, renovation of schools, provision of instructional materials, and teachers’ training.
Doguwa urged media practitioners to provide publicity for the government’s education policies and programs, announcing plans for monthly press briefings to showcase achievements and address queries.
He stressed the crucial role of radio stations in disseminating information, especially in rural areas.
The managing directors of Radio Kano, Nasara Radio, and Freedom Radio pledged their support, commending the government’s commitment to education, evident in the allocation of 29.97% of this year’s budget to the sector.
They assured their cooperation in enlightening the public on programs aimed at improving education quality.
