Kano – September 3, 2026 – The Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to supporting Kannywood and the wider creative industry to promote the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu and the Kano First Agenda.
The governor said this on Wednesday when he received the leadership and members of “Tripple for Renewed Hope” at the Coronation Hall, Government House, Kano.
In a statement by his Director General, Media and Publicity, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, Yusuf said his administration would continue to support singers, filmmakers, actors and other creative professionals by providing an enabling environment for them to develop their talents, achieve self-reliance and contribute to the economic growth of the state.
He said the creative industry remains an important avenue for youth empowerment, job creation and the promotion of Kano’s rich cultural heritage.
The governor assured Kannywood practitioners of stronger partnership and support for initiatives capable of creating sustainable opportunities for artists and other professionals.
He urged members of the creative industry to use their platforms responsibly to promote peace, unity, development and the positive image of Kano State.
Speaking at the engagement, popular Hausa singer, Dauda Kahutu Rarara, described Yusuf as a patient and hardworking leader committed to transforming Kano State. Rarara commended the governor for recognising the role of Kannywood and the creative industry in the development of the state.
Also speaking, the Kano State APC Chairman, Umar Haruna Doguwa, expressed confidence that the party would record a landslide victory in the 2027 general elections.
Doguwa said the APC was committed to ensuring a peaceful, credible and hitch-free election, and called on party members and supporters to remain united in building on the achievements of the APC-led government in Kano and at the federal level.
The engagement reaffirmed the commitment of the Kano State Government to working with Kannywood and other stakeholders in the creative sector to promote economic empowerment, cultural development and the Kano First Agenda.
