Saadatu Rimi Varsity of Education: A Beacon of Hope for Quality Education

The Vice Chancellor of Saadatu Rimi University of Education, Kano, Prof. Yahaya Isa Bunkure, has expressed optimism that the institution will address the shortage of qualified teachers in senior secondary schools in Kano State and beyond.
Bunkure told newsmen in Kano on Saturday that the university’s emergence will provide a platform for teachers to update their knowledge and skills, thereby enhancing the quality of education in the state.
The Vice Chancellor praised the Kano State Government, for its support in ensuring course accreditation and providing necessary logistics, which has uplifted the university’s standards.
He also commended the government for allocating 30% of the 2024 budget to education, a significant step towards educational development.
The university has made significant strides in research, infrastructure, and staff development, with over 116 lecturers holding Ph.D. degrees and close to 500 with Master’s degrees.
The university has also established a center for final-year students to learn skills and traits, ensuring self-reliance after graduation.
Professor Bunkure appealed to the government to intensify efforts in ensuring that the proposed modern Senate Chamber and Council Chambers projects come to fruition, which will further enhance the university’s infrastructure.
Overall, Saadatu Rimi University of Education is poised to become a hub for quality education in Kano State and beyond, thanks to the dedication of its staff and the support of the state government.”
