Kano State Committee on Education Recovery Conference Submits Report, Aims to Transform Education Sector

The Kano State Committee on Education Recovery Conference has submitted its report to the Commissioner of Education, Dr. Ali Haruna Makoda, marking a significant step towards transforming the state’s education sector.
The report is a culmination of a 2-day conference that brought together stakeholders from Kano and the global education community to discuss strategic education issues.
The conference, themed “Repositioning Education in Kano State: Navigating the Path to Excellence,” aimed to develop interventions to improve education quality, access, equity, and performance in basic literacy and numeracy.
“It also focused on promoting girl-child education and teacher development.
The report is divided into five key areas, including an overview of the declaration of a state of emergency on education, a summary of the conference proceedings, and a description of the work plan development process.
“It also outlines a framework for monitoring and evaluating program processes and ensures stakeholders are held accountable for their commitments.
The Chairman of the Committee, Alhaji Tajuddeen Gambo, assured that the report’s implementation would address pressing issues such as education access, out-of-school children, and teacher professional development.
The State Commissioner of Education, Dr. Ali Haruna Makoda, represented by the Permanent Secretary, Alhaji Bashir Baffa Muhammad, commended the committee for its work and assured that the government would ensure the report’s full implementation.
