The governor made the declaration on Thursday, while commissioning the newly established Quick Response Squad Office of the Kano State Special Taskforce on Illicit Drugs Abuse and Trafficking.

Yusuf expressed satisfaction with the progress recorded by the taskforce since its inauguration, particularly in identifying and apprehending drug abusers, as well as facilitating their rehabilitation and access to appropriate medical treatment.
