Qadiriyya leader pays solidarity visit to Governor Yusuf in Abuja

Abuja – July 14, 2026 – The Spiritual Leader of the Qadiriyya Islamic Movement, Sheikh Qaribullah Nasiru Kabara, on Tuesday paid a solidarity visit to Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, in Abuja.
It was the first official meeting between the two leaders.
This was contained in a statement issued by the governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, on Tuesday.
During the meeting, Sheikh Qaribullah congratulated Governor Yusuf on the achievements recorded by his administration and prayed for wisdom, sound health and continued success in delivering good governance to the people of Kano State.
The Islamic scholar commended the governor’s developmental strides and urged him to sustain the momentum in infrastructure, education, healthcare and other critical sectors.
He also assured the governor of the continued prayers and support of Qadiriyya faithful for peace, unity and progress in Kano State and Nigeria.
In his remarks, Governor Yusuf expressed appreciation to Sheikh Qaribullah for the visit, describing it as a reflection of the cordial relationship between the government and religious leaders.
The governor urged members of the Qadiriyya Movement and other Islamic groups to continue offering prayers for lasting peace, economic prosperity and national unity, noting that spiritual support remains vital to the success of governments at all levels.
He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to delivering people-centred policies and sustaining the pace of development across Kano State.
