Kano, Oct. 21, 2026 , The Emir of Daura, Alhaji Umar Faruk Umar, has commended President Bola Tinubu for completing legacy projects initiated by the late President Muhammadu Buhari.

Speaking on Tuesday in Kano at the commissioning of sections 1 and 3 of the 118km Abuja-Zaria-Kaduna-Kano Road (30-58km), the Emir said Tinubu deserves commendation for shunning ethnic tendencies to continue with the hundreds of projects embarked upon by the late Buhari.

He said projects like the Kano to Abuja road had transcended many presidents, including the late Buhari, but could not be completed.

“But today this project is near completion, this alone shows the belief of the President in the unity of Nigeria,” he said.

The Emir, who spoke as the Leader of Kasar Hausa, said he is telling Northerners that President Tinubu is never and will never be their enemy, but rather has shown his love, care and concern for the region.

“Today my roads, that is Daura/Kwangwalam to Niger and so many other roads of Kano, Katsina, Kano/Maiduguri and so many others are to be completed soon, this is apart from the railroad of Kano to Abuja, Kano to Niger Republic. These are not common jokes, they are real,” he said.

He said with the giant efforts of the Tinubu administration in remodeling Nigeria with huge projects, the North has no reason to shun him.

“I will, at the appropriate time, tell my people what to do and I am promising the President that certainly we will not betray his trust because he will hear from us with the good news,” he said.

Also speaking at the ceremony, the Chairman, House of Representatives Committee on Downstream Petroleum, Alhassan Ado Doguwa, assured President Tinubu that the North is 100 percent standing with him.

Doguwa called for an open voice vote in support of Tinubu’s reelection, expressing happiness with the echo reception he received, insisting that this alone shows that there is no cause for alarm.
