Kano, Governor Abba Yusuf of Kano State on Sunday approved 100 hectares of land for the expansion of Aliko Dangote University of Science and Technology, wudil.
This is contained in a statement issued by his spokesperson Sunusi Dawakin Tofa in Kano on Sunday.
He said that the approved 100 hectares of land will include a new Faculty of Engineering and a Senate Building,demonstrating the governor’s commitment to supporting education and development in Kano State.
The governor was briefed on the status of the abandoned projects by the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Musa Tukur Yakasai, during the visit.
Governor Yusuf assured the university community that his administration is committed to completing all stalled projects and revitalizing the institution.
He emphasized that education remains the foundation of sustainable development and pledged to continue investing in the sector.
The university, originally established by Sen. Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso, aims to produce middle-level manpower in Science, Technology, and Engineering to support its growth.
During the visit, Vice Chancellor Prof. Yakasai appealed to the governor to settle compensation claims for neighboring residents, facilitating a smooth expansion process.
