NCS sensitizes personnel on advance ruling system in Kano

Kano, The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), has organised for forum to sensitize it’s personnel, on advance ruling system in Kano, on Wednesday.
Speaking at the launch of the programme, The Zonal Coordinator of Zone B, ACG Samba Dangaladima, said the sensitization will enhance legitimate trade and ease business in communinities.
He said, it will educate and equip officers and men in the zone, to prepare for the implementation of procedures and concept of advance ruling.
According to him, “this sensitization will help to achieve legitimate trade facility and bring ease of doing business in business community.
“The agenda of the present administration is to build capacity of officers and men of service, through continued training, to enhance knowledge and behaviour of officers.
“This will enable them perform their duties effectively in line with international best practices.
“Advance ruling, is one of the customs procedures captured in Nigeria Customs Service ACT 2023 section 24 (sub-section one -nine), which equally align with article three of World Trade Organisation (WTO) trade facilitation.
“It is also a measure in which Nigeria customs service, provides a legally-binding decisions on importers’ request, regarding classification, valuation and origin of goods before they are imported”, he said.
Dangaladima, then urge officers, to open their minds and understand legal binding nature of advance ruling and implications on both the service and critical stakeholders.
