Niger Gov Elect Inaugurate 71 Member Transition Committee

The Niger State Governor elect Umar Mohammed Bago has inaugurated a 71 Member independent Transition Committee mandated with the process of taking stock of all the outgoing prospects, liability, access and advised the incoming government accordingly.
Umar Mohammed Bago during the Inauguration of Transition and Secretariat committee held in Minna, Niger state capital, said it will make their findings clear to the public so that upon their exit too, they shall be judged accordingly.
According to him, “their intentions are clear not negative or personal, but in the interest of Nigerlites because posterity will surely judge us.” adding that in doing so this would enhance the required development of the state.
He urged the committee interface with officials of the current government in a view to understanding the position the state financially, economically and otherwise, hence they are expected to probe deeply the position of all government books, transactions as well as commitments therein.
Bago had earlier inaugurated three principal committees that reflect the desire of the in-coming administration to take off on a sound footing -the Transition, Inauguration and Secretariat committees respectively.
Responding in an interview, the alternate committee chairman, Malam Suleiman Ndanusa express satisfaction with the calibre of the membership and assured to work within its terms of reference to ensure justice to the assignment.
Ndanusa noted that they will take all stocks so as to review the some of the last dispensation policies that have worked and those ones that didn’t work and advised accordingly.
He maintained that they will ensure in making Niger state very competitive and a leading state by taking advantage of the state proximity to FCT Abuja hence to modernized and industrialized the state to enhanced youth employment and engagement.
