Gov. Yusuf flags-off scholarship program for 400 students in Kano

Kano, Gov. Abba Kabir-Yusuf of Kano State has flagged-off scholarship program for over 400 students in the state.
Flagging -off the exercise on Thursday in Dawakin-Kudu local government area, Gov. Yusuf said that education was mankind’s hope and a pivotal pathway to the success and progress of society.
Represented by his deputy, Aminu Abdussalam, Yusuf underscored the significance of education, drawing inspiration from the instruction given to the Holy Prophet to read by Almighty Allah, as guided by Angel Jibril.
“This is a clear example illustrating that education is never a waste, regardless of its scale or where one seeks knowledge.
“It is a seed sowed, and with dedicated attention, it yields a bountiful harvest, whether in the long or short term,” remarked the Governor,” he explained.
Congratulating the scholarship beneficiaries, Mr Yusuf urged students to broaden their horizons by exploring entrepreneurial skills.
He also urged them to foster self-employment, and contribute to the reduction of the unemployment rate upon completion of their studies.
The governor who urged them to focus on their studies, also encouraged them to give back to their communities the knowledge acquired during their study programs.
Yusuf assured them that the state government’s doors were always open for advice and cooperation, while calling on citizens to collaborate for the development of Kano State and Nigeria at as a whole.
Some of the beneficiaries who spoke at the occasion commended the state government for the gesture and promised to concentrate on their studies.
