Kano governor felicitates with new correspondent chapel chair, Garko

Kano, Gov. Abba Kabir-Yusuf of Kano State, has felicitated with new correspondent Chapel Chairman, Alhaji Aminu Garko.

This is contained in a statement issued by the Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Sanusi Bature on Tuesday in Kano.

Gov. Yusuf felicitated with the state chapter of Correspondent Chapel on the occasion of swearing-in in of it new chairman Alhaji Aminu Garko and other positions that were replaced today.

The governor described Garko as a distinguished media manager and a veteran journalist par excellence who dedicated his life for fair and credible news making.

He further enjoined the Kano Correspondent Chapel to as a matter of responsibility maintain significant level of fairness and objectivity in the discharge of its duties.

“As a body of media professionals, it is expected of you to rise against the spread of fake news, the noble profession of journalism requires packaging the truth and nothing other than the truth,” the statement said.

The new chairman of the Correspondent Chapel Aminu Garko is the Bureau Chief, News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Kano regional office.(NAN) in Kano State.
