
AIG Zone 7 Assures to Look into Niger Command Challenges

The Assistant Inspector General of police in charge of Zone 7, AIG Aliyu Garba has emphasized on the need for better synergy between the police and public to enhanced prevention of crime and ensure peace and order in the society.
He made this known during his one day official visit to Niger State command in Minna, calling on Nigerians to be there brothers keeper because police are not magicians hence the need for intelligent information to perform better.
AIG Garba who warned over unverified social media posts in the country however assured to look into the challenges confronting the command as enumerated by the Niger State Police Commissioner, CP Ogundele Joshua Ayodeji.
According to CP Ayodeji noted that the command is faced with problems of insurgency/banditry, religious intolerance from She’ites movement, youth restiveness just as the command needs more logistics, manpower, riot control equipment, arms and ammunition as well as better office accomodations.
He said this would go a long way in helping to perform effectively and efficiently in policing the state, noted that the command has enjoyed good synergy with other security agencies and stakeholders in the state which he said should be sustained.
The CP appreciated the visit of the AIG who was in the state to get first hand information about the command and to make efforts in solving them for the betterment of the country.
