Troops Rescue Abducted Victim, Recover Cows and Motorcycles Along Kano-Katsina Border

The Joint Task Force Faruruwa has rescued a 38-year-old man, Rabiu Alhaji Halilu, who was abducted by bandits along the Kano-Katsina border. The rescue operation took place in the early hours of Sunday, following a tip-off about the movement of armed bandits.

Halilu, who sustained a gunshot wound to his leg during captivity, was treated at the JTF Faruruwa Medical Centre. The troops also recovered three motorcycles abandoned by the fleeing bandits and a number of cattle believed to have been rustled.

According to Maj. Zubair Babatunde, Spokesman for 3 Brigade Nigerian Army, Kano, the troops were alerted to the bandits’ movement at around 1:00 am on Saturday night and swiftly mobilized a fighting patrol to intercept them.

The operation is part of efforts to enhance security in the region and prevent further criminal activities.
