Kano Police Ban Sallah Durbar Activities for Eid-el-Fitr Celebrations in Kano

The Kano State Police Command has banned all Durbar activities during the 2025 Eid-el-Fitr Sallah festivities, citing security concerns and the need to maintain public order.
Commissioner of Police Ibrahim Adamu Bakori made the announcement during a press briefing at the Bompai Police Headquarters on Friday.
“Security assessments revealed growing tensions and potential threats associated with the Durbar, which could lead to unrest.
“Credible Intelligence Reports Orchestrated plans by miscreants and their sponsors to exploit the Durbar for disruptive activities were uncovered.
Adequate security measures have been put in place to safeguard Eid prayers at designated grounds.
Compliance with Guidelines Worshippers are urged to comply with security guidelines, including avoiding unnecessary objects, horse riding, car racing, and reckless driving.
“Parents and guardians are cautioned to prevent their children from being used by subversive elements and to adhere to public order.
Residents are urged to report any suspicious activities to the nearest police station.
