New Kano Education Commissioner, Dr. Makoda, Vows to Introduce Innovative Programs

Dr. Ali Haruna Makoda has officially taken office as the new Commissioner for Education in Kano State, pledging to introduce more programs aimed at enhancing the state’s education sector.

Addressing staff, friends, and well-wishers, Dr. Makoda acknowledged the numerous initiatives introduced by Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf’s administration and expressed his determination to build upon these successes.

 He emphasized the need for hard work and dedication to ensure the ministry’s continued progress.

The new Commissioner assured staff of his commitment to continuing and expanding the good programs initiated by his predecessor. 

He stressed the importance of the education and water ministries, highlighting the need for commitment and dedication to achieve better results.

Dr. Makoda urged staff to be proactive and committed to actualizing the policies and programs introduced by the current administration for the benefit of the people and the state.

Outgoing Commissioner Alhaji Umar Haruna Doguwa expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve and highlighted some of the achievements recorded during his tenure. 

These include: Increased budgetary allocations to education (30% in 2024 and 31% in 2025)

“Massive school renovations across 44 local government areas

– Construction of classrooms and fabrication of 3-seater student furniture.

“Provision of school uniforms and upgrade of the school feeding program

The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education, Alhaji Bashir Baffa Muhammad, prayed for Allah’s guidance for the two Commissioners in their new assignments and assured the incoming Commissioner of the staff’s total support and cooperation.
