PDP Elects New Leaders in Kano

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kano State has finally elected a new state executive committee after a two-year leadership vacuum.
Alhaji Yusuf Ado Kibiya emerged as the new chairman with a landslide victory, securing 3,964 votes against his opponent Nura Nuhu’s 244 votes ¹.
Kibiya, a former commissioner for Agriculture under Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso, promised to lead with transparency and inclusiveness, aiming to revitalize the PDP in Kano State.
The new leadership is expected to strengthen the party’s presence and strategies ahead of upcoming political activities.
Professor Umar Faruk Jibril, the publicity secretary, emphasized the need for repositioning and restructuring the party in accordance with the party constitution.
Senator Hayatou Gwarzo expressed confidence that the PDP would capture the central government in 2027, citing the party’s ability to address the country’s economic downturn
