Kano, Gov. Abba Yusuf of Kano State has condoled with the National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Surajudeen Ajibola Basiru, over the death of his mother, Alhaja Sidikat Basiru, at the age of 92.
This is contained in a statement issued by his spokesperson, Sanusi Dawakin Tofa.
Yusuf described the deceased as a devout Muslim and compassionate matriarch whose life was defined by humility, submission to Allah, and selfless sacrifice.
He said her commitment to nurturing her children with moral and religious values was reflected in the character and public service of Senator Basiru and other family members.
The governor said Alhaja Sidikat lived an impactful life and left a legacy of faith, integrity, and service.
He prayed that Allah grant the Basiru family strength to bear the loss, forgive her shortcomings, accept her righteous deeds, and grant her Al-Jannatul Firdaus.
