Yusuf Urges Reformed Minors to Respect Rule of Law

Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State has charged 76 reformed minors, previously accused of participating in property looting during the EndSARS protest, to be good ambassadors and respect the rule of law.
The governor, represented by Chief of Staff Alhaji Wasa Sagagi, handed over 71 minors to their parents at the Muhammad Buhari Specialist Hospital in Kano.
The Kano State Government will sponsor the education of all reformed minors.
“Those who have completed their NCE education will be offered employment during the next recruitment exercise.
“The government has allocated over 30% of the 2025 proposed budget to the education sector, demonstrating its commitment to uplifting the standard of living of the general populace.
Alhaji Haruna Umar Doguwa, representing the Ministry of Education, ensured that the minors who are in secondary school will return to school with adequate follow-up to achieve set objectives.
Malam Nura Muhammad, speaking on behalf of the parents, commended the Kano State Government for taking responsibility for the minors until their release.
UNICEF’s Chief of Field Office, Mr. Michael Banda, praised the Kano State Government’s leadership in prioritizing the rights and welfare of these children, calling the release and reunification of the minors a “great development
