GOV. YUSUF FELICITATES MUSLIMS ON MAULUD, URGES ADHERENCE TO PROPHET’S TEACHINGS

Kano – August 25, 2026 – Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has felicitated Muslims in Kano State and across Nigeria on the occasion of Maulud, which marks the birth of Prophet Muhammad, SAW.
The Governor’s Spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, said in a statement on Tuesday that the governor urged Muslims to use the occasion to reflect on the life, teachings and exemplary character of the Prophet.
Yusuf said Muslims should emulate the Prophet’s virtues of peace, justice, compassion, honesty, patience and tolerance, and demonstrate same in their daily lives to promote peaceful coexistence, unity and mutual respect.
He also called on parents, religious leaders and community elders to intensify efforts in educating younger generations on the teachings and conduct of the Prophet.
The governor prayed for continued peace, stability and prosperity in Kano State and Nigeria, and urged citizens to support efforts aimed at improving their wellbeing.
He also prayed for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima for a successful first tenure and a hitch-free re-election in 2027.
Yusuf wished Muslims a peaceful and spiritually rewarding Maulud celebration, and called on them to pray for peace, progress and unity across the country.
