Abuja – July 8, 2026 – President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Tuesday night received former Sokoto State governorship candidate, Sa’idu Umar Ubandoma, at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
Ubandoma was presented to the President by the Leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Sokoto State, Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko, following his recent return to the party.
This was contained in a statement issued by Bashar Abubakar, SA Media and Publicity.
The President expressed delight over Ubandoma’s return to the APC and assured him of support and full integration into the party.
The meeting was described as cordial and productive, with discussions centred on strengthening the party and consolidating its progress.
President Tinubu also encouraged Ubandoma to sustain his working relationship with Senator Wamakko and the Governor of Sokoto State, Ahmed Aliyu.
Ubandoma, a former Commissioner for Finance and former Secretary to the Sokoto State Government, was the PDP governorship candidate in Sokoto State in the 2023 general election. He officially defected from the African Democratic Congress, ADC, to the APC earlier this week.
