Kano, The Director-General of the Tinubu/Shettima 2023 Campaign in Kano State, Rabiu Suleiman Bichi, has described the All Progressives Congress, APC, ticket as “exceptionally strong and strategically positioned” for victory in the 2027 general elections.
In a statement on Saturday, Bichi said the decision to retain Vice President Kashim Shettima had secured loyalty in the North-East and consolidated Northern support, effectively giving the APC “full control of the North.”
According to him, the party was already operational with the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, a network with 774 Local Government Coordinators and a central digital platform to counter negative narratives about the administration’s reforms.
He added that key opposition figures, including the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, had admitted that parties like the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, were too fractured to mount a serious challenge without rebuilding from the grassroots.
“Other parties are even struggling for recognition and legitimacy,” he said.
The campaign DG said reasonable Northern leaders argued it was the South’s turn to retain the presidency, a position he said had undercut potential candidates like Atiku Abubakar, while Labour Party’s Peter Obi was struggling to make inroads in the North due to past antecedents.
He further stated that President Tinubu had remained faithful to his reforms agenda, particularly in food security and national infrastructure development.
Bichi who also the Managing Director of Hadejia Jama’are River Basin Development Authority also commended Vice President Shettima for his loyalty and support for the Renewed Hope Agenda, noting that the programmes were yielding dividends of democracy.
“The vice president’s exceptional dedication to the progress of Nigeria and the North has endeared him to the people in a manner that informed the president’s decision to retain him,” he said. (
