Sen Sani Musa attends emergency Senate plenary on state police bill

Abuja – June 24, 2026 – Senator Mohammed Sani Musa, representing Niger East and chairman of the Senate Committee on Finance, attended an emergency plenary session of the Senate on Tuesday.

During the session, the Senate President read a communication from President Bola Ahmed Tinubu forwarding the Nigeria State Police Bill to the Senate. The bill seeks to provide a constitutional framework for establishing state police services through the decentralisation of policing.

According to the president’s letter, the proposed dual policing structure is intended to strengthen national security by introducing additional safeguards to address evolving security challenges.

Musa, CON, also participated in other legislative matters before the Senate adjourned. He reaffirmed his commitment to effective representation and advancing national development through legislative engagement.
