SSG emphasizes collaboration for safer, well-planned kano

Kano, The Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Alhaji Umar Ibrahim, has stressed the importance of synergy between the Ministry of Housing Development, the State Ministry of Works, and the Kano Urban Planning and Development Authority (KNUPDA) in ensuring a safer and well-planned Kano.
This contained in a statement issued by his Press Secretary, Musa Tanko in Kano on Wednesday.
The SSG spoke while receiving the report of the implementation committee on the successful launch of the Ministry of Housing Development.
He noted that unregulated urban growth poses security and social challenges, highlighting the need for community identification systems as an added security measure.
While acknowledging Kano’s attractiveness to people from diverse backgrounds as a sign of economic potential, he emphasized the need for proper regulation to ensure socio-economic benefits.
The creation of the Ministry of Housing Development, the SSG said, is a long-overdue and welcome development that will help curb crimes through effective settlement regulation.
He commended the committee responsible for the ministry’s establishment and assured that the report would receive prompt attention.
The Chairman of the Committee and Commissioner for Housing Development, Arc. Ibrahim Yakubu Adamu, expressed gratitude to committee members for their commitment and thanked the administration for the confidence reposed in them.
