Kano SSG advises youths to embrace surveying

Kano, Kano State’s Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Alhaji Umar Ibrahim, has encouraged young people to consider surveying as a rewarding and sustainable profession.
This is contained in a statement issued by his Press Secretary, Musa Muhammad, in Kano on Monday.
The SSG, Muhammad said, spoke while the receiving executive members of the Nigerian Institution of Surveyors (NIS), Kano State Council, led by Mr Muhammad Galadanci on Monday.
He emphasized that surveying offers promising prospects for a comfortable and fulfilling livelihood.
The SSG reaffirmed the government’s commitment to youths’ welfare and empowerment, recognising their crucial role in society.
He said that Kano’s growing attractiveness makes it essential to promote professions and trades that provide steady income sources.
Earlier in his remarks, Galadanci, congratulated Ibrahim on his appointment, expressing confidence in his ability to excel in service delivery.
He announced that Kano State was selected to host the Nigerian Institution of Surveyors’ Annual General Meeting (AGM) in June 2026, during the institution’s last AGM held in Enugu.
He requested moral and financial support from the state government to ensure the event’s success.
Galadanchi also urged the current administration to prioritise engaging indigenous surveying firms in government projects, highlighting that there were fewer than ten such firms operating in the state.
