Former President Babangida Pledges Support for IBB University Hostels

Former President and Commander-in-Chief of Nigeria, General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida, has hinted at providing more hostel accommodations for Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University, Lapai.
He made the promise during a visit by the University Management team led by Vice Chancellor Professor Mohammed Hadi Sulaiman.
The Elder Statesman expressed his appreciation for the courtesy visit and prayed for the University’s continued growth.
He emphasized his commitment to assisting the University, particularly in addressing the shortage of hostel accommodations for students.
Professor Sulaiman briefed the former President on the University’s challenges, including the need for more hostel accommodations.
He disclosed that the University has over 19,000 students, with over 17,000 living off-campus. The Vice Chancellor also mentioned that a Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETfund) intervention of N3.8 billion is forthcoming for the construction of hostels with 300 rooms each for males and females.
General Babangida assured the University Management of his support, and the team left his residence with optimism about the future of the University.
