The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano State is mourning the tragic loss of 22 dedicated athletes from the state who died in a recent accident while returning from the National Sports Festival in Abeokuta.
Abdullahi Abbas, Chairman of the APC in Kano State, expressed his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families, the Government of Kano State, and the Nigerian sports community.
In a statement, Abbas described the incident as an “immeasurable tragedy” that has not only affected the families of the deceased but also the entire state and nation.
He noted that the athletes represented the pride, energy, and aspirations of a generation, and their untimely death is a collective sorrow.
Abbas prayed for the Almighty to grant the departed souls eternal rest and comfort their loved ones. He also wished for the speedy recovery of those injured in the accident.
The APC chairman urged the people to find strength in unity and compassion as they support one another through this painful loss.
