A devastating auto crash occurred along the Kano-Maiduguri Road, under the Muhammadu Buhari Interchange Flyover, Hotoro, in Tauroni Local Government Area resulting in the loss of 23 lives and injuring 48 others.
According to Umar Matazu, the Kano State FRSC Sector Commander, the accident involved a trailer carrying goods and passengers, which lost control due to overspeeding ยน.
The trailer, with an unknown registration number, was carrying 71 passengers, including 67 adults and four children.
The injured victims were rushed to Murtala Mohammed General hospital for urgent medical treatment.
Matazu extended his condolences to the families of the deceased and prayed for the quick recovery of the injured victims.
The FRSC sector commander warned drivers against overloading trailers with goods, animals, and passengers, emphasizing that such practices increase the risk of fatal crashes.
He also urged motorists to adhere strictly to traffic regulations to prevent further loss of lives.
The obstruction caused by the accident has been cleared, and traffic has been restored to normal flow”,he said.
