HYPPADEC Establishes Anti Corruption/ Transparency Unit (ACTU) In Niger

Managing Director, Alhaji Abubakar Sadiq Yelwa has established Anti Corruption/ Transparency Unit (ACTU) to be on the path of sustainable growth and development.
Sadiq Yelwa made the disclosure at the Inauguration and induction ceremony of the ACTU Niger HYPPADEC office in Minna, saying that the commission must be free of bribery, gratification, misappropriation of public funds and misuse of public offices.
The MD had directed all Heads of Directorates, Divisions and Units, as well as all members of staff to cooperate with the Unit in order to build a corruption- free organisation, while he
assured the ICPC team, of the maximum cooperation of the Management.
According to him, the ACTU Unit is meant to promote ICPC’s mandate on prohibition and prevention of corruption in the public service mandated to operates as an autonomous outfit with functional linkages with the office of the Chief Executive.
He warned not to hesitate in supporting the unit in taking disciplinary actions against anyone found wanting by tarnishing its hard-earned image of the Commission. Adding that unless lawlessness and impunity are fought effort being made by the Federal Government to wipe out corrupt practices from public service will remain a mirage.
Sadiq Yelwa however applauded the efforts of the ICPC towards ensuring sustainable development in the Nigerian public sector through the establishment of Anti-Corruption Units across Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs).
The Chairman, Independent Corrupt Practices Commission ICPC, Prof. Bolaji Awasanoye represented by the Niger State Resident Anti Corruption Commissioner, Malam Zayanu Danmusa
stated that it will institutionalized the ACTU that requires to Sensitize, promote high ethics standard in all the MDAs to ensure transparency and accountability
The unit Chairman, Architect Yusuf Ibrahim assured to bring to bear the team worth of experience, competence, transparency and justify the confidence reposed in them hence to provide whistle blowing boxes, Corruption guide of operation, compliance program and implementation ethics just as to ensure zero tolerance for corruption in the system.
