The Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission has taken decisive action against corruption, sealing a warehouse in Nasarawa Local Government Area.

The warehouse was allegedly used to divert and rebag 28 trucks of rice palliatives meant for distribution by the Federal Government.

Chairman Muhyi Rimin-Gado revealed that the operation uncovered approximately 17,000 bags of rice, valued at over N1 billion, which had been diverted.

The investigation indicated that the rice, intended for distribution during Ramadan, was being rebagged.

Rimin-Gado condemned the incident as a clear form of corruption, emphasizing that the rice was meant to alleviate the hardships of the public.

The commission has secured the necessary warrants and court orders to continue the investigation, and one person has been arrested in connection with the illegal activity.
