Kano,  Dr. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, the 2023 presidential candidate of the New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP), has shown solidarity with the Borno state government and victims of the recent devastating flood.

He visited Maiduguri and presented a N50 million cheque to Governor Babagana Umara Zulum to support those affected ¹.

This gesture is not surprising, given Kwankwaso’s history of supporting the people of Borno, particularly during the Boko Haram insurgency when he sponsored 100 orphans and relocated them to Kano for education and rehabilitation.

The flood, considered the worst in 30 years, has affected over a million people and displaced hundreds of thousands.

Kwankwaso described the disaster as “one too many” and prayed for the repose of the lives lost. His visit was accompanied by notable figures, including Engr. Buba Galadima and Dr. Ajuji Ahmed.

Kwankwaso’s efforts are among several support initiatives for the flood victims.
