Kano, Thousands of New Nigeria People Party ( NNPP) supporters in Kano on Sunday trooped out in red caps to welcome back the Governor Alhaji Abba Yusuf to the state capital.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that Governor Yusuf who have been away for about a month was welcomed to the ancient city of Kano from Abuja.
Yusuf was in Abuja to witness the hearing of the appeal he filed at the Supreme Court challenging the upholding of the verdict of the tribunal that voided of his election.
Aside of men ,who appears in red cap,women also wore white cloth with red hijab on their body .
However ,shout of 4+4 rented the.air ,with different songs being dished out on loudspeakers to entertain the crowd that were following him.
The return of the governor Yusuf ,to many was described as an integrity show ,to indicate that he remained unperturbed about the ongoing governorship tussle at the Supreme court.
It will be recalled that after the Supreme Court notified both the incumbent governor Alhaji Yusuf, of the New Nigeria People Party( NNPP) and that of the candidate of All Progressive Congress (APC)hearing of the case,Alhaji Yusuf shifted base to Abuja
However, on Sunday,when it was announced that the Governor, would arrive the state capital, mammoth crowds of supporters assembled themselves along the roads leading to Malam Aminu Kano International Airport (MAKIA) as early as 10 a.m. to have a glimpse of him.
Even women with babies on their back came joined others on major roads to give thanks to Almighty Allah back to Kano.
Immediately he alighted from the aircraft,crowds of people followed the governor in his car towards routes to major popular market Kowar – ruwa,one of the busy road in the state capital
While a journey from MAKIA,that supposed to have taken just 30 minutes ,took vehicles following governor Yusuf almost three hours till the crowds were happy with expression on their faces
As at the time of filling this report ,the vehicle conveying governor Yusuf, still on the roads ,with more mammoth crowds trooping out from their various houses to catch glimpse look of governor Yusuf.
