Nigeriens stage peaceful protest in Kano,urge reinstatement of president Bazoum

Kano Hundreds of Nigerien Nationals resident in Kano on Saturday staged a peaceful protest calling for the reinstatement of President Mohamed Bazoum held by the military Junta in their home country.
The foreigners who staged the demonstration around WAPA in Fage Local Government Area of the state,also condemned the military coup
that swept away the democratic government of that country.
“We are calling for a peaceful reinstatement of President Mohamed Bazoum’s democratic government through peaceful efforts by the ECOWAS.”
The Chairman of the group, Lawalli Mamman Barma, who led the protest, urged the coupists to unconditionally release President Mohamed Bazoum, his family and all other victims that they allegedly kidnapped during the mutiny.
“We ask without conditions, the release of President Mohamed Bazoum legitimately elected by the sovereign people of Niger, as well as his family and all other kidnapped persons,”Barma said.
He also implored ECOWAS to rescind its decision to deploy troops in Niger, stressing that dialogue was the best approach to resolve the conflict.
The group then commended President Bazoum for his efforts at developing human and capital resources, noting that during his period as president, Nigerien people witnessed political, economic and social developments.
“We should always remember that prior to the military intervention in Niger republic, the country under president Bazoum experienced peace as well as economic and political development.
