Kano, The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano state has commended it’s teeming supporters for the orderly manner in which they conducted a peaceful protest to the headquarters of the state Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) over the partisan disposition of the state Resident Electoral commissioner in the just concluded Governorship and Assembly elections in the state.

The party particularly drew comparison to the violent action of members of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) in the name of victory celebrations during which innocent lives, were lost, many people injured, houses and offices destroyed or set ablaze, smashing of vehicles as well as massive looting of public and private properties.

In a statement issued by Malam Muhammad Garba, state commissioner for Information and spokesperson for Gawuna/Garo Campaign Council, lauded the political maturity demonstrated by party supporters during the exercise.

He said during the protest march which started from Sani Abacha Stadium, Kofar Mata to the INEC office at Hajj Camp, the APC denounced the Kano REC for being partial and aligning himself with the opposition party to announce the result of an election that is clearly inconclusive.

Malam Garba stated that as civilised and law abiding citizens, members of the APC would continue to pursue to the logical conclusion the injustice meted out on the party by a partisan public servant.

The APC, the statement added, reiterated it’s call on its members to continue to remain faithful and loyal in the face of the broad day robbery of justice.

He further assured that despite the set back, the party would bounce back and wax stronger to serve the people that brought it to power since 2015.
