Newly Appointed Commissioner Dr. Dahir Muhammad Hashim Urges Environment Staff to Boost Efforts

Dr. Dahir Muhammad Hashim, the newly appointed Commissioner for Environment and Climate Change in Kano State, has called upon staff of the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change to increase their commitment to duty.
The goal is to make Kano a cleaner and greener state, leaving no stone unturned.
During his address to the staff, Dr. Hashim expressed gratitude for the warm reception and pledged to operate an open-door policy, fostering collaboration and synergy.
He acknowledged the support of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf and promised to work tirelessly towards achieving the ministry’s objectives.
As the new Commissioner, Dr. Hashim has a strong background in environmental health policy, climate change mitigation, and sustainable development.
His experience will undoubtedly be valuable in driving the ministry’s initiatives, such as the Three Million Trees Planting Initiative (3MTP) aimed at combating climate change ².
Dr. Hashim directed department heads to submit progress reports and mandates for tracking purposes and to outline the way forward.
The Acting Permanent Secretary, Adamu Fate Jigaware, assured the Commissioner of the staff’s readiness to support him in his mandate.
Other dignitaries, including Hon. Surajo Imam and Alh. Dayyabu Ahmed Maiturare, also spoke at the event.
