Kano NUJ Chapter Witnesses Historic Leadership Transition as Dederi Takes the Helm

The Kano Chapter of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) has experienced a significant change in leadership, with Sulaiman Abdullahi Dederi emerging as the new Chairman.

The swearing-in ceremony, which took place at the Press Centre in Kano, was attended by prominent NUJ leaders and a large gathering of journalists.

Dederi, who leads a team of young and idealistic individuals, has pledged to prioritize professionalism and enhance members’ welfare.

In his inaugural address, he committed to upholding the highest standards of journalism, fostering a culture of integrity, and advocating for the rights and welfare of all journalists in Kano State.

The new executive team includes Mustapha Gambo as Vice Chairman, Abubakar Shehu Kwaru as Secretary, Hajiya Hauwa Zaharaddeen as Assistant Secretary, Nura Bala Ajingi as Treasurer, Abdullahi Hassan as Financial Secretary, and Salisu Kasim as Auditor.

Outgoing Chairman, Comrade Abbas Ibrahim, tasked the new executives to take the NUJ Kano chapter to the next level, building on the foundation laid by the previous leadership.
