
The Kogi Central Journalists Guild (KCJG) has called on Muritala Ajaka, the standard bearer of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in the last governorship election in Kogi State, to end legal hostility and support the development agenda of Governor Ododo.
In a joint statement, the Guild’s President, Malam Muhammad Tijjani AbdulSalam, and Secretary, Mr. Ozumi Abdul, commended Governor Ododo’s commitment to service delivery and community empowerment, and urged him to be magnanimous in victory.
The Guild emphasized that Governor Ododo’s victory is a victory for democracy and good governance, and urged all stakeholders to rally behind his administration to improve the lives of Kogi people. They noted that despite legal hurdles, Governor Ododo’s administration has achieved notable progress in infrastructure, healthcare, education, and agricultural development.
The KCJG urged Governor Ododo’s opponents to channel their energies towards constructive engagement and collaboration for the collective benefit of the state, and called on the Governor to continue his commitment to dialogue and partnership to deliver on the dividends of democracy.
The statement concluded that the victory at the Appeal Court validates the people’s choice and reinforces the resilience of democratic institutions in Kogi State.
